Founded in 1983, Regional Hospice and Home Care provides care, comfort, compassion and real hope for families facing advanced illness through patient-focused care, education, resources and advocacy. Regional Hospice serves Western Connecticut and neighboring towns in New York as a community-based, nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization. Our unique programs of palliative home care, hospice, and The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families—help families with any stage of end-of-life care. We believe through skilled and supportive care, people can approach an advanced illness with comfort and dignity and have the support they need when coping with the loss of a loved one.
Our agency’s reputation for quality hospice care and bereavement support services is unmatched in our area. In fiscal year 2011, we provided $553,304.55 in community benefit, including $129,095.45 in free patient care services, consults and visits, and $185,465 for community bereavement support.
This past year we served more than 500 patients who received more than 25,000 clinical care visits for almost 19,000 patient days of hospice and palliative home care. Our Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families supported nearly 550 children, teens and adults for 3,078 visits as part of our bereavement programs.
Regional Hospice and Home Care is certified by Medicare as a Home Health and Hospice Agency. We are proud to be a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO), The Connecticut Association for Home Care and Hospice, and Community Health Charities of New England, as well as being accredited by The National Institute for Jewish Hospice.
