As a direct result of the leadership of Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT, Inc. and their tireless work on behalf of the people of Western Connecticut, the Connecticut Department of Health and the State Legislature are preparing to update the hospice residence regulations to allow for more in-patient hospice services to take place at multiple locations throughout the state.
With the anticipated passage of this new regulation, Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT proactively prepared for the growth in demand for our hospice care services and began to make the financial and internal steps necessary for a physical expansion that will become our hospice residence.
Six acres of tranquil wooded property in Danbury are in the process of being acquired and plans are in place to bring all aspects of our agency under one roof. The envisioned two-story, 35,000 square foot space will include 12 patient suites with outdoor patios as well as The Healing Hearts Center for Grieving Children & Families. The clinical and admininistrative areas will be housed on the second floor of the hospice residence building.
These changes and updates for more comprehensive service offerings mark an unprecidented advancement in hospice and palliative care in Western Connecticut and neighboring New York State.
Over the coming months you will hear more about this exciting opportunity to meet the increasing need for local hospice residence care. Real hope for tomorrow.
