Perogie Dash to Benefit Healing Hearts Center for Grief & Loss

With a post-race party featuring homemade perogies, individuals and teams are invited to run or walk in the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church 16th annual Perogie Dash to benefit Regional Hospice and Home Care’s Healing Hearts Center for Grief & Loss on Saturday, August 29.

The 5K Road Race/Health Walk and the 1K Kids Fun Run start at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 74 Joes Hill Road in Danbury. On-site registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The 1K Kids Fun Run starts at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K Road Race/Health Walk begins at 9 a.m.

Prizes of Matroiska Nesting Dolls will be awarded for 12 age-group winners as well as overall winners, and there will also be a prize for the team that brings in the most donations. Medals will be given to all children participating in the Kids Fun Run. All participants who pre-register by August 19 will receive custom-designed commemorative T-shirts.

The Healing Hearts Center for Grief & Loss provides free bereavement support to more than 1,200 participants annually. Programs are designed for adults and children as young as four, with support groups focused on different types of loss, such as loss of a parent, infant loss, loss of a spouse and loss of a loved one by suicide.
