Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided care choices for terminal patients and their families during the sacred end-of-life transition. Our Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first hospice residence of its kind in Connecticut and is available to anyone in the U.S. Darien residents benefit from 24/7 clinical care in private suites with screened in balconies, wood furnishings and chef-prepared custom meals. The Center replicates the comforts of home, where loved ones can focus on quality time together.
Our caring staff tends to our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you will always be supported. Both in our Center for Comfort Care and Healing and in your residence, our team offers the support needed.
In addition to pain and symptom control, our skilled staff can provide special services such as speech and occupational therapy when needed. Each patient has unique needs and we work to meet those. Our team consists of many professionals including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice care aides, and trained volunteers.

Comfort Versus Curative
Hospice care is a holistic approach focused on relieving symptoms and stress on the patient while controlling the disease. Hospice is available to those whose terminal illness has a prognosis of 6 months or less and children with a life-limiting illness.of 6 months or less and children who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.
A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
Online hospice referrals may be completed by anyone including family, friends, and clergy through our website. Hospitals, physicians, and home care agencies can, of course, refer patients in the Darien, CT area as well.
Hospice is Affordable
Most private health insurances, Medicaid, and Medicare cover some or all of the costs of hospice care.

Chef Jonathan LeFebvre and his kitchen staff are able to recreate a favorite dish you or your loved one may be craving. The kitchen is open to requests and each meal is served with love.
We offer support to Darien families who have lost babies during pregnancy and whose children have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses. Throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth, and life, we offer medical, emotional, and spiritual support in our Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice Programs. Our team will come alongside your family as you choose ways to honor the child you’ve lost.
Our skilled pediatric and perinatal health care professionals will be available for perinatal care and advice on caring for your newborn at home. Our team can also recommend resources within the Darien community to help you in this difficult time.
