A distinguished nonprofit hospice provider since 1983, Regional Hospice walks alongside Beacon patients and their loved ones enabling those in our care to focus on what matters: living fully when facing life-limiting illness. Patients of all ages―from babies to adults― benefit from our in-patient services. Our Danbury Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first residential hospice center of its kind in Connecticut, offering all the comforts and amenities of home to patients throughout Beacon.

Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided care choices for terminal patients and their families during the sacred end-of-life transition. Our Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first hospice residence of its kind in Connecticut and is available to anyone in the U.S. Beacon residents benefit from 24/7 clinical care in private suites with screened in balconies, wood furnishings and chef-prepared custom meals. The Center replicates the comforts of home, where loved ones can focus on quality time together.

Our dedicated physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice care aides and trained hospice volunteers provide customized treatment options that meet the individual needs of our patients and may include pain management, symptom control, speech therapy as well as physical and occupational therapies.

A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
Anyone who makes a request for our hospice care will be admitted under the care of one of our physicians. No referral is necessary; however, referrals can be made on our website.

Hospice is Affordable
Most private health insurance plans as well as Medicare and Medicaid provide Hospice care coverage for your loved ones giving you the peace of mind needed that they can and will receive specialized Hospice care.

Perinatal & Pediatric Care

Our Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice Programs provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to Beacon families with babies and young children who have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses.  We are here to help families each and every step of the way from pregnancy, labor, and birth, to life and even loss and remembrance.

Our Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice specialized care and treatment includes healthcare visits and ongoing support with perinatal care.  It also teaches families proper at home care of their babies or children and offers assistance with other available community resources.

We Assist With:

  • Prenatal support
  • Childbirth education and preparation
  • Developing individualized birth plans to establish personal desires and needs
  • Coordinating discharge of baby to home, when appropriate
  • Creating cherished keepsakes and photographs
  • Preparing for memorial services and funerals
