Home Hospice Care

Any person with a terminal illness, regardless of age, is eligible for our hospice care programs. Home Hospice Care comes to you, wherever you reside–your home, assisted living residence, or skilled nursing facility.

A distinguished nonprofit hospice provider since 1983, Regional Hospice walks alongside Cheshire patients and their loved ones enabling those in our care to focus on what matters: living fully when facing life-limiting illness. Patients of all ages―from babies to adults―in private homes, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities in four Connecticut counties benefit from our services. Our Danbury Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first residential hospice center of its kind in Connecticut, offering all the comforts and amenities of home to patients throughout Cheshire.

Home Hospice

We treat patients regardless of age, illness, or health and offer emotional, spiritual and physical comfort in their own home.

Inpatient Hospice

Your loved ones will be provided with many benefits, ranging from gourmet meals to care and therapy sessions, all located within our state-of-the-art private suite hospice center located in Danbury CT.

Pediatric Care

Who We Are and Why We Serve Cheshire?

Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided care choices for terminal patients and their families during the sacred end-of-life transition. Our Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first hospice residence of its kind in Connecticut and is available to anyone in the U.S. Cheshire residents benefit from 24/7 clinical care in private suites with screened in balconies, wood furnishings and chef-prepared custom meals. The Center replicates the comforts of home, where loved ones can focus on quality time together.

Why Choose the Regional Hospice Center

We provide compassion and comfort for our Cheshire patients inside our beautiful center or in the comfort of their own home. We extend our services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Different people including physicians, social workers, chaplains, registered nurses, hospice care aides and trained hospice volunteers help patients follow customized health care plans designed for pain management and symptom control. They also work to maintain special services such as speech, physical and occupational therapy.

Compassion, Peace and Dignity

We understand that this is a difficult time for your family. We make sure to support you and your loved ones with the compassion, peace and dignity they deserve. We work with symptom and pain management that allow end-of-life patients to achieve new goals and improve their quality of life.

Comfort versus Curative

Hospice care is typically suggested when a terminal prognosis of 6 months or less is made, or if a child is suffering from a life-limiting illness. We provide compassion and respect to each of our patients and their families while receiving our services.

A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
Anyone may request hospice care. A Cheshire patient may be referred by a hospital, clergy, family, friend or other home care agency, and will be admitted under a physician’s direction. For your convenience, a referral can be made through our website.

Hospice is Affordable
Medicare, Medicaid and many private health insurances cover hospice care, which allows you to provide your loved ones with the safe and exceptional care they deserve.

Home Hospice Care comes to you, whether that’s at your home in Cheshire, a nursing facility, or an assisted living residence.

Many diagnoses are considered: Alzheimer’s and related dementias, pulmonary and cardiac diseases, and cancer.
Hospice Care is a covered benefit under Medicare, Medicaid, and most insurances.
Special services like speech, physical and occupational therapy are available when needed.
Our support line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for symptom management; medications and equipment as well as emotional and spiritual support.

Sometimes our patients find themselves receiving hospice care in a facility or nursing home that has a contract with Regional Hospice. We have trained volunteers on hand when caregivers are in need of a break. These volunteers are able to provide companionship to their patients, run errands, and even share special skills such as singing or telling jokes.

Inpatient Hospice Care

For end-of-life care, if your Cheshire home is not the most comfortable living situation, we welcome you to our inpatient hospice care program. The center provides patients and their families options for the highest quality hospice care away from home, while supporting their personal needs and respecting their individuality in our Danbury Inpatient Hospice Center.

Gourmet meals are available for whatever you crave. Chef Jonathan LeFebvre and his kitchen staff often become beloved members of a family because his kitchen is always open for requests.

Perinatal & Pediatric Care

At Regional Hospice, you and your children will receive the best physical, emotional, and spiritual support.. We’re there throughout the whole experience, from pregnancy to labor, and from birth to remembrance.

Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice care helps families by connecting them with healthcare professionals who have experience in perinatal care. We also teach families proper instruction while caring for their baby at home. We can even provide assistance with connecting you to local resources.
