Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided care choices for terminal patients and their families during the sacred end-of-life transition. Our Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first hospice residence of its kind in Connecticut and is available to anyone in the U.S. Cortland residents benefit from 24/7 clinical care in private suites with screened in balconies, wood furnishings and chef-prepared custom meals. The Center replicates the comforts of home, where loved ones can focus on quality time together.
Whether within a nursing home facility or within our Center for Comfort Care and Healing, Regional Hospice takes pride in providing 24/7 hospice care to patients.
Our dedicated physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice care aides and trained hospice volunteers follow customized, individual care plans that are designed to meet the individual needs of all patients. Customized care plans include pain management and symptom control as well as special services rendered with regard to speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Compassion, Peace and Dignity
We provide much needed support to you and your loved ones during a very difficult time in your lives. Services are rendered with the utmost compassion and with a goal of providing peace and dignity to your loved ones. As part of our treatment, we work closely with our end-of-life patients to help achieve new goals and improve their overall quality of life.
Comfort Versus Curative
When a loved one receives a terminal prognosis of 6 months or less, or a child has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, consider our specialized hospice care. We are committed to providing loves ones with an increased quality of life in their final days.
A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
A referral to our hospice center is not necessary. Anyone may request our hospice care and will be admitted under the care of a physician. Online hospice referrals can be submitted through our website.
Hospice is Affordable
Hospice care needed by your loved ones is covered by Medicare and Medicaid as well as most private health insurance plans. Coverage allows you to provide loved ones with much needed care in their final weeks and days.
Our Danbury Center provides patients and their families with the highest quality of care away from home. We give focus to the personal needs of all our patients at our Danbury Inpatient Hospice Center.

The Palliative Home Care Program works in collaboration with your physician’s care and affords patients specialized treatment options. This program is ideal for homebound patients who suffer from uncontrollable pain symptoms and are in desperate need of some type of relief.
