Providing compassionate, caring end-of-life services to our Connecticut community including those in Cortland since 1983, Regional Hospice has helped thousands of patients spend their remaining days in comfort. Specialized care and treatment is provided to those confined to nursing care facilities also.
Regardless of where patients live their final days, we ensure they enjoy the peace and dignity they so deserve. We also provide specialized emotional and spiritual support to family members.
We have, after years of careful consideration and planning, constructed Connecticut’s first and only, state-of-the-art, private suite hospice center in Danbury, CT, the Center for Comfort Care and Healing. Our center provides loved ones and their families with all the comfort and care as well as healing processes needed.
Whether within a nursing home facility or within our Center for Comfort Care and Healing, Regional Hospice takes pride in providing 24/7 hospice care to patients.
Our dedicated physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice care aides and trained hospice volunteers follow customized, individual care plans that are designed to meet the individual needs of all patients. Customized care plans include pain management and symptom control as well as special services rendered with regard to speech, physical therapy and occupational therapy.
Compassion, Peace and Dignity
We provide much needed support to you and your loved ones during a very difficult time in your lives. Services are rendered with the utmost compassion and with a goal of providing peace and dignity to your loved ones. As part of our treatment, we work closely with our end-of-life patients to help achieve new goals and improve their overall quality of life.
Comfort Versus Curative
When a loved one receives a terminal prognosis of 6 months or less, or a child has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, consider our specialized hospice care. We are committed to providing loves ones with an increased quality of life in their final days.
A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
A referral to our hospice center is not necessary. Anyone may request our hospice care and will be admitted under the care of a physician. Online hospice referrals can be submitted through our website.
Hospice is Affordable
Hospice care needed by your loved ones is covered by Medicare and Medicaid as well as most private health insurance plans. Coverage allows you to provide loved ones with much needed care in their final weeks and days.
Our Danbury Center provides patients and their families with the highest quality of care away from home. We give focus to the personal needs of all our patients at our Danbury Inpatient Hospice Center.
The Center for Comfort Care and Healing offers:
At the Center, Chef Jonathan LeFebvre and his kitchen support staff provide the highest quality gourmet meals for patients and their families when requested. Chef LeFebvre has been accepted by many as a beloved family member because of his overwhelming concern for patients.
Our Palliative Home Care Program provides relief from pain to help patients with advanced illnesses live more comfortably.
Palliative Home Care offers:
Palliative Home Care is often the care of choice by families of those who are suffering from an advanced illness, since it integrates effective pain and symptom management with curative treatment in order to achieve the highest quality of patient care.
The Palliative Home Care Program works in collaboration with your physician’s care and affords patients specialized treatment options. This program is ideal for homebound patients who suffer from uncontrollable pain symptoms and are in desperate need of some type of relief.
For those Cortland families with babies and young children who have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses or may have recently passed on, our Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice Programs provide all the physical, emotional, and spiritual support needed. We are on hand to help families every step of the way from pregnancy, labor, and birth, to lifespan and even remembrance.
Our Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice care includes not only ongoing healthcare visits and support with perinatal care, but also instructs families on proper at home care of their babies and will also assist with other community resources.
