A distinguished nonprofit hospice provider since 1983, Regional Hospice walks alongside Cross River patients and their loved ones enabling those in our care to focus on what matters: living fully when facing life-limiting illness. Patients of all ages―from babies to adults― benefit from our in-patient services. Our Danbury Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first residential hospice center of its kind in Connecticut, offering all the comforts and amenities of home to patients throughout Cross River.
An interdisciplinary approach to palliative care is provided for to life-limited patients suffering with advanced illnesses. This approach provides relief for pain symptoms as well as treatment for mental and physical stress.
We additionally provide quality prenatal and pediatric hospice care for babies and children. It is our goal to help families and their loved ones with their day to day challenges and help provide a better quality of life to patients.
Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided care choices for terminal patients and their families during the sacred end-of-life transition. Our Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first hospice residence of its kind in Connecticut and is available to anyone in the U.S. Cross River residents benefit from 24/7 clinical care in private suites with screened in balconies, wood furnishings and chef-prepared custom meals. The Center replicates the comforts of home, where loved ones can focus on quality time together.
Regional Hospice offers care and treatment to patients 24 hours of every day, 7 days a week regardless of where you are being treated.
The dedicated team of physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice care aides, and trained hospice volunteers at Regional Hospice follow personalized treatment plans that are designed to meet the individual needs of our patients. The treatment plans include pain management, symptom control, speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Compassion, Peace and Dignity
The primary goal of our staff is to provide compassion, peace, and dignity to all our hospice patients as well as superior care and treatment to allow for a better quality of life in their final days and weeks.
Comfort Versus Curative
Patients who receive a terminal prognosis of 6 months or less or a child diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, require compassionate, specialized hospice care and treatment. Regional Hospice provides that very care and comfort along with all the specialized care patients need.
A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
No referrals are required to obtain Regional Hospice. All patients who reach out for our hospice are accepted and placed under the care of one of our physicians. Online referrals can be submitted on our website if individuals choose to do so.
Hospice is Affordable
Medicare and Medicaid cover the cost of hospice care and treatment as do most private health insurance plans. This is comforting to families when they are attempting to provide their loved ones with all the compassion, care, and comfort they need in their final days.
Our Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice Programs give focus to Cross River families with babies or children diagnosed with life-limited illnesses. This care plan provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support to all. Our dedicated team is on hand to assist loved ones and family members every step of the way from pregnancy, labor, and birth, to life and even loss and remembrance.
The specialized Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice treatment plan consists of routine healthcare visits and perinatal support and provides families with instructions on how to properly care for their terminally ill babies or children in their Cross River home. Additionally, we can provide assistance with a variety of other community resources.
