The North Star – Children’s Hospice Care

Over the last five years, Regional Hospice has taken care of children and babies in our Center, and we have wanted to create a space for kids that is unique and different, special and playful. We have begun plans for the construction of The North Star, the only purpose-built, in-patient hospice pavilion for children in the Northeast – and one of only five in the nation. The new wing is focused on providing a comforting respite for children that enter the Center, with plans for a beautiful starry-skied ceiling, a comfortably designed environment, and beds that have the ability to go out on the patio to bring patients into nature. The North Star will provide a safe haven where children can come to receive the care they need while enjoying life.
