A distinguished nonprofit hospice provider since 1983, Regional Hospice walks alongside Mahopac patients and their loved ones enabling those in our care to focus on what matters: living fully when facing life-limiting illness. Patients of all ages―from babies to adults― benefit from our in-patient services. Our Danbury Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first residential hospice center of its kind in Connecticut, offering all the comforts and amenities of home to patients throughout Mahopac.
RHC provides care focused on treating the pain and symptoms that can accompany any advanced illness with specialized medical care and treatments. This type of care can begin right at diagnosis, which helps maintain a high quality of life.
We offer prenatal and pediatric hospice care for families whose babies or children have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. We provide endless love and compassion for our youngest patients.
Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided care choices for terminal patients and their families during the sacred end-of-life transition. Our Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first hospice residence of its kind in Connecticut and is available to anyone in the U.S. Mahopac residents benefit from 24/7 clinical care in private suites with screened in balconies, wood furnishings and chef-prepared custom meals. The Center replicates the comforts of home, where loved ones can focus on quality time together.
Our patients will receive both compassion and comfort inside our beautiful center. We also extend our services on a 24/7 basis.
Our physicians, registered nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice care aides, and trained hospice volunteers follow customized care plans that will specifically target each patient’s pain and symptoms. They will also focus on any additional services like speech, occupational, or physical therapy.
Compassion, Peace and Dignity
We cherish the relationships between our staff and patients. We treat everyone with kindness, compassion, and respect while they receive their end-of-life care. By combining symptom and pain management techniques, we can help improve the quality of life for our patients.
Comfort Versus Curative
After a terminal prognosis of 6 months or less has been made, or if a child is suffering from a life-limiting illness, our hospice services should be considered. We are here to offer you the support and guidance through this difficult time.
A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
Anyone can request our care, though many patients are referred to us by a hospital, family member, friend, or other agency. Our patients are then admitted to us under a doctor’s orders. We offer an online referral form for your convenience.
Hospice is Affordable
Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private health insurances, letting you and your family focus on providing expert care for your loved one.
Our Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice Programs provides assistance to the entire family; from pregnancy, to birth, to remembrance. We provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to Mahopac families whose babies are suffering from an advanced illness, or have died.
Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice care combines the access to expert healthcare professionals with special instruction on caring for your baby at home. We can also provide information on local resources for our Mahopac families in need.
We Assist With:
*Prenatal support
*Childbirth education and preparation
*Developing individualized birth plans to establish personal desires and needs
*Coordinating discharge of baby to home, when appropriate
*Creating cherished keepsakes and photographs
*Preparing for memorial services and funerals
*Facilitating support groups for parents, siblings, and others
