Regional Hospice GEMS are a generous and kind group of individuals who give their best monthly gift to help patients with terminal illness in need of physical, emotional and spiritual care. When a loved one is reaching the end of life, every moment together matters. Monthly gifts provide families with vital support during the challenging time of grief and loss. You can be a GEM with your monthly gift of $10, $25, $50, $100 or more and make a significant, continuous impact by spreading your generosity over the course of a year.
“Regional Hospice is a wonderful service with incredible people working for them. The love, care and support they provided are beyond measure.”
$10/month helps provide spiritual support to patients at end of life.
$25/month helps provide grief support to family members who have lost a loved one.
$50/month helps provide medications for pain management in final days.
$100/month helps provide medical equipment needed to give comfort and dignity to our patients.
As a GEM, your best monthly gift covers the cost of care for people who can’t afford it and closes the gap between the cost of care provided and the amount reimbursed by insurance providers.
Benefits:
Rachel Poland, Chris Corso, Joann Corso
“A butterfly counts not months but moments and has time enough.”
In memory of Joann Corso
Chris Corso has been a Regional Hospice GEM for two years. His mom, Joann, spent her final two months of life at the Center for Comfort Care & Healing in the care of our nurses, hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, therapists and trained volunteers. Diagnosed at age 54 with ovarian cancer, Joann fought back with surgery and assorted curative treatments on a rollercoaster of good news and bad until she had exhausted all her options. She chose Regional Hospice at the end.
Recalling painful memories of her loss, Chris says, “Regional Hospice made what was truly the worst time of my life manageable in a way that made my family feel comfort and understanding. It gives me so much consolation to know she was taken care of in the best way possible, and it allows me to continue remembering her the way she wanted . . . celebrating her life instead of mourning her death.”
Chris makes a meaningful monthly gift in memory of his mom. He explains, “After the care, comfort, and peace that my mom and our family received for months at Regional Hospice, a recurring monthly donation is the least I can do. Not just for us, but for all patients who will benefit in the future.”
It is easy to give monthly to Regional Hospice. Just click here and make a gift of whatever amount is right for you. The donations will be automatic. According to Chris, “It really is that simple, and it just feels good to know your gift is helping others get through the most difficult moment of their lives.”
