A distinguished nonprofit hospice provider since 1983, Regional Hospice walks alongside Putnam County patients and their loved ones enabling those in our care to focus on what matters: living fully when facing life-limiting illness. Patients of all ages―from babies to adults― benefit from our in-patient services. Our Danbury Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first residential hospice center of its kind in Connecticut, offering all the comforts and amenities of home to patients throughout Putnam County.
To help our patients live as comfortable as possible we offer specialized medical care and treatments that aim to reduce the pain and symptoms that can accompany a terminal illness.
We provide support and comfort for Putnam County County families going through the process of having a child who has died or has been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Since 1983, Regional Hospice has provided care choices for terminal patients and their families during the sacred end-of-life transition. Our Center for Comfort Care & Healing is the first hospice residence of its kind in Connecticut and is available to anyone in the U.S. Putnam County residents benefit from 24/7 clinical care in private suites with screened in balconies, wood furnishings and chef-prepared custom meals. The Center replicates the comforts of home, where loved ones can focus on quality time together.
The Center for Comfort Care and Healing, Regional Hospice provides high quality hospice care services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Registered nurses, physicians, social workers, aids, volunteers, and chaplains are here to follow specific individualized treatment plans that focus around the patients pain and symptoms. We can also offer special therapies like speech, occupational, and physical.
Compassion, Peace and Dignity
Our physicians, aids, and caregivers treat each patient as if their were their own family. By keeping an open line of communication, we have formed special bonds with our patients that will last a lifetime. Each of our Putnam County patients is respected, cared for and treated with peace.
Comfort Versus Curative
Hospice care should be considered when a terminal prognosis of 6 months or less is given, or a child is diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Regardless of their disease or care needs we will provide high quality services with an empathetic human connection.
A Doctor’s Referral is Not Necessary
Physicians can certainly refer patients in their care. However, anyone, including friends, family, clergy, and home healthcare agencies can refer someone to hospice. If your loved one is located in Washington and needs our services, you can find an online referral form on our site.
Hospice is Affordable
Regional Hospice and Palliative care aims to give high quality care at an affordable cost. Care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private health insurances at your convenience.
Families who have a baby with a terminal illness or have died should consider our Pediatric & Perinatal Hospice Programs. During your time of grief, we will with spiritual healing and guidance. We can accompany families throughout the journey of pregnancy, labor, birth, life and remembrance.
